Liturgical Design
G.R.Hoelzeman offers extensive design services for overall architecture, interior space, and furnishings. We follow a careful process of evaluation, development, and presentation. Designs can be developed in conjunction with an architect, interior designer or individual artist. Our design services focus on developing an aesthetic plan which is visually beautiful, spiritually uplifting, and liturgically appropriate.
Evaluation
- visual assessment of existing structures. Includes
- overall unity of existing designs and construction
- historical or cultural significance of existing structures and their appointment.
- discussion with community concerning heritage and meaning of existing spaces.
- exploration of possibilities for new construction/renovation.
- discussions on possible adaptive reuse
- exploration of conservation/Register of Historical Places issues.
Design Development
- discussions with members of the community including leadership, organizations, concerned parties within the community.
- collaboration with relevant professionals, including architect and/or interior designer.
- exploration of liturgical use of the space
- development of visual renderings of proposed additions, modifications or new designs.
- search for relevant professionals including:
- restoration experts and craftsmen
- investigation of new materials/technologies
- liturgical artists and specialized craftspeople
Presentation
- presentations on history of relevant art, architecture and liturgical concerns
- presentation of proposed new design or modifications of existing designs.
- further discussion of proposed design and refinement.
