Holy Trinity Episcopal
Fayetteville, North Carolina
The Great Doors of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church are each 6 feet wide and 16 feet tall. The community desired an iconographic schema celebrating the Trinity rooted in Biblical accounts. Shown is the first completed section representing the broad history from Creation to the Incarnation. These panels were installed 11 January 2007. Nine more panels are planned. The iconography begins with the top panel representing the creation of the Cosmos. The waters break and flow toward the image of the Prophet. The figure is an embodiment of all the Old Testament Prophets. Behind him appear passages from Isaiah in Hebrew. The Prophet's scroll unfurls toward the Annunciation in which is found the fulfilment of the prophecies and the hope of salvation for all creation. Within these images is revealed the creative activity of the Father, the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and the incarnation of the Son.
